This is a really simple "product". It's really just a Python script for obfuscating e-mail addresses for use within web pages so that spambots won't add them to their endless lists for their evil masters. I had never really intended to release it, but noticed that there didn't really seem to be anything similar in the Python world yet and figured that it might be useful to some. Keep in mind that it thus probably reflects some of our usage patterns and isn't the most generalized solution. We've been using it for almost a year now (as of the first release date listed here) without problems, and yes, it really does fool the vast majority of spambots (perhaps even all of them). Usage instructions are commented in the script itself. It should hopefully be pretty self-explanatory, and can be used for anchors, links, bare addresses, and more. Release History: 1.0 April 6, 2003
